In the top distribution area, the dowty retarder can provide continuous and stable resistance to the wheels higher than the critical speed. When the retarder is used on the existing line, it does not need to change the line, and can be installed at any time, so the construction is convenient and fast. Based on this, considering the plan of not rebuilding the horizontal and vertical section of the line, it is assumed that the speed control equipment in the marshalling yard will be installed in the large ramp section before and after the loading point to assist the train braking, so as to offset the sliding force caused by the dead weight of rolling stock and the load, so as to realize low constant speed loading.
A total of 1912 retarders and 100 spare dowty retarder are needed in this scheme. The annual maintenance cost of equipment is about 100000 yuan. According to 25 years and 3% discount rate, the operation cost is 1.84 million yuan, the project investment is 5.47 million yuan, and the construction period is 1 month.
Obviously, the plan of installing dowty retarder can maintain the horizontal and vertical section of the existing line, and has the advantages of convenient construction, short construction period and saving project investment of 14.25 million yuan, which is about 70% less than the reconstruction plan of plane and vertical section of loading line.
