Recently, the Coal Science Research Institute issued a report saying that the effectiveness of coal de-capacity has gradually emerged, and the industry has been optimized and upgraded. It is expected that more than 10 million tons of de-capacity tasks will be completed ahead of schedule in 2018, but it is more difficult to further increase capacity.
The report entitled " The coal industry continues to eepen the supply-side structural reforms " pointed out that since the implementation of supply-side structural reforms in the coal industry in 2016, the industry policy system has been gradually improved, and the effectiveness of de-capacity has gradually emerged. Economic and social risk mitigation, industrial restructuring has achieved remarkable results. The industrial concentration has been greatly improved, laying a good foundation for the transformation and upgrading of China's coal industry.
Specifically, from 2016 to 2017, the coal industry has accumulated a total capacity of 440 million tons, completed more than 55% of the “13th Five-Year Plan” elimination of 800 million tons of backward production capacity. Compared with the 2016 “China Coal Enterprise Scientific Capacity Evaluation Ranking” evaluation results, the total scientific capacity of participating mines in 2017 increased by about 10%, the safety and green scores also have improved.
At the same time, industrial restructuring has achieved remarkable results, and industrial concentration has increased significantly. The number of coal mines nationwide has decreased from 10,800 in 2015 to around 7,000 in 2017.
The report believes that China's coal industry has a stable economic operation, stable coal prices, and increasingly improved science and technology innovation systems. The coal industry already has the basic conditions for transformation and upgrading.
Deputy director of the Coal Strategic Planning Research Institute of the Coal Research Institute Wu Lixin said that from the trend, the proportion of coal production in the southern region will continue to decline, Hubei, Jiangxi, Chongqing and other provinces and cities may gradually withdraw from coal production. To a certain extent, this indicates that China's coal industry is concentrated in areas such as Shanxi, Shanxi, Menggu with good resource storage conditions, low mining costs and high security.
Wu Lixin emphasized that coal will remain China's main energy source in the coming period. For the needs of national energy security, national economic development, social stability and corporate survival, it is imperative for the coal industry to accelerate the transformation and upgrading.
