Safety requirements for dowty retarder

There are certain safety requirements for dowty retarder. Let me introduce them below.

The opening pressure of the pressure valve should ensure that under the conditions specified in this standard, dowty retarder will not derail the vehicle when it performs work on the lightest slippery vehicle (domestic railway 16t car).

The external dimensions of the dowty retarder should be guaranteed to meet the requirements of Articles 5.3 and 5.4 of GB146.1-83 "Standard Gauge Railway Locomotive and Vehicle Limits" after installation.

Under the specified wear limit working conditions of wheel treads and rails of rolling stock, the working distance of the dowty retarder should have a safety margin of more than 3mm.

The dowty retarder should be provided with a stop device that prevents the sliding cylinder assembly from popping out of the housing during the return trip.
