The original standard does not make any provisions on the service life of the dowty retarder, only the daily maintenance and regular maintenance of the dowty retarder are specified in TB/T 2664-1995. According to this regulation, the dowty retarder do not need to be scrapped, as long as through regular maintenance, after replacement of over-limited parts can be used indefinitely. This does not conform to the basic laws of product use, nor the basic principles of technological innovation and technological progress.
In particular, it has caused great obstacles to the renovation and transformation of the on-site dowty retarder and the application of funds. Over the years, various transportation authorities and on-site maintenance departments have strongly requested that the standards be revised as soon as possible, and the scrapping indicators of the dowty retarder should be included in the standards, so that the overhaul, modification and scrapping of the dowty retarder can be followed.
Article 5.1.18 of the new standard stipulates: "Under normal use and maintenance conditions, the service life of ordinary dowty retarder and controllable items (including control valves) should not be less than 3 million cycles or 6 years, whichever comes first Subject to." Article 5.1.19 stipulates: "The service life of other dowty retarder with special properties shall comply with the relevant technical documents of the product."The standard stipulated rolling 3 million rounds or 6 years is the data obtained through the accumulation of decades of field experience of the dowty retarder.
