Application of dowty retarder

Due to the limitation of the characteristics of the dowty retarder, the dowty retarder can only be used on the low-speed running line. The invention of dowty retarder is to improve the shunting operation efficiency of hump on marshalling station. Therefore, dowty retarder is widely used in marshalling yard.

The dowty retarder can be continuously installed on a section of the line, which can provide continuous resistance to the trains passing through the line. Based on this, it is proposed to install dowty retarder on the loading line and track scale line of special line which need low-speed operation, which can reduce the amount of civil engineering and save the project investment to a certain extent.
