Harm of oil pollution to dowty retarder

995 Date: 2020-09-07 Tag: dowty retarder

The specific hazards of oil pollution to dowty retarder are as follows:

(1) Pollutants can strain the speed valve, pressure valve, return valve and orifice, and cause the working pressure and speed of the dowty retarder to change, which is unstable and insensitive.

(2) Pollutants will accelerate the wear of piston assembly parts, cause internal leakage and reduce braking power.

(3) Pollutants will accelerate the damage of seals and the surface of sliding oil cylinder or piston rod, which will cause oil and gas leakage of dowty retarder and cause toppling or damage of electric control valve.

(4) Water is mixed into the oil, which makes the oil deteriorated and the piston assembly corrodes, thus shortening its service life.

(5) If the oil exceeds the pollution level, the high-speed flow channel of the oil in the cylinder body is cut off during the operation of the dowty retarder, the oil temperature rises rapidly, and the pressure in the cylinder increases, resulting in the enhancement of the dowty retarder's resistance work, and the empty car can't slip in place. In serious cases, the cylinder block will fly out, posing a threat to safety.
