Application introduction of dowty retarder

Due to the limitation of the characteristics of the dowty retarder, the dowty retarder can only be used on low-speed running lines. The retarder was invented to improve the efficiency of shunting operations on the hump at the marshalling station. Therefore, the dowty retarder is widely used in the marshalling yard of the marshalling station.

The dowty retarder can be continuously installed on a section of the line to provide continuous resistance to the trains passing through the line. Based on this, it is envisaged that the installation of dowty retarder on the loading lines of dedicated lines, track scale lines and other lines that require low-speed operation can reduce the amount of civil engineering to a certain extent and save engineering investment.
