When the vehicle passes through the dowty retarder at a speed higher than the second critical speed, the oil in the upper chamber of the sliding cylinder changes the flow channel and enters the lower chamber. The impact blade drives the return valve plate to rotate and cuts off the upper and lower chambers in the cylinder. The oil can only slowly return to the upper chamber from a very small orifice. The sliding cylinder picks up at a very slow speed, that is, the sliding cylinder is locked in a lower position, At this time, the roof basically does not work on the vehicle. After the vehicle passes through the roof for 10 seconds, the dowty retarder will release automatically, so as to realize no speed limit when the train departs and reverses traction.
