Mining electric locomotive is mainly consists of two major parts:mechanical and electrical. The frame is welded by thick steel plates. The main function of the axle box is to fix and seal the protective bearing, and utilize the guide slots on both sides of the bearing box to connect the wheel sets to the frame. It makes the wheel sets can be freely moved relative to the frame over a certain range during the locomotive driving. Wheel sets are made up of two wheels pressed together on a single shaft generally. The function is to make the locomotive run smoothly through the wheels on the track. According to different braking methods, the braking devices can be divided into mechanical braking and electrical braking.Mechanical braking brakes by mechanical brakes.Electrical braking brakes using traction motor during electric braking.The function of the sanding device is mainly to increase the friction coefficient between the wheels and the track, and increase the friction between them.
Traction locomotive is one of the main equipments of electric locomotive. At present, mining electric locomotives adopt DC series motor traction.The controller is an important device for operating the traction motor and the electric vehicle. It consists of main controller and commutator, the two are called the spindle and the commutation shaft respectively.Automatic switch is the power switch of the main circuit of the motor vehicle, actually is the protection device of the motor power circuit.The starting resistor is composed of several individual resistors in general. Each resistors have different connections, resulting in different resistances. The function is to limit the starting current.According to the own configuration, the pantograph can be divided into bow type and contact type these two types. Most of the mining electric locomotives use the former.
